Do I need to bring my insurance card to every visit?
Yes, we require you to present your insurance card at every visit in order to keep your account up to date and accurate. If you have HMO insurance, please ensure that you present your child’s insurance card and not that of the parents.
Will I need a referral if the doctor sends my child to see a specialist?
Each insurance policy has different requirements. Please contact your insurance company for more information. If your insurance plan requires a referral, you may call our office to request a referral.
What if I am going to be late for my appointment?
We request that you plan to arrive 10 minutes before your appointment, so that your child is in the room and ready for the provider for the scheduled appointment time. Please contact our office if you are going to be late or cannot keep your appointment. Our office staff will assist you with rescheduling if necessary.
Will there be a copay for every visit?
Depending on your insurance, a copayment may be required. You may contact your insurance company to check if your plan requires that we collect a copayment. To avoid an administration fee, please be prepared to pay your copay at the time of the visit.
What should I do if my child is admitted to the hospital?
You should contact your insurance company within 24 hours.
Why is it important that one of the physicians from O.C. Children’s Medical Group to be listed as my primary care physician (PCP)?
If your insurance requires a PCP and one of our providers is not listed, this may result in the charges being denied by your insurance carrier and you being responsible for the charges for all dates of service.
Do I need to “register” with your office before my baby delivers?
No. You do not need to register with our office before your baby delivers. If you would like one of our physicians to be your baby’s doctor, simply tell the hospital staff this when you arrive at the hospital to give birth. The hospital will notify our office when your baby is born. One of our pediatricians will be in to see you and your baby when they do hospital “rounds” in the morning.
